WELCOME TO MY CLASS! I’M SO GLAD THAT YOU ARE HERE!

WHAT IS INDEPENDENT STUDY?

Independent Study, or Study Hall, is a time to WORK.

DO:

  1. Work on classwork, homework, read, code or STUDY independently.

  2. Use your time wisely.

  3. Ask for help if you need it. I will be glad to help you.

  4. Raise your hand to be acknowledged.

DO NOT:

  1. Talk

  2. Waste time (including playing unapproved games on your Chromebook)

  3. Disrupt others

Google Classroom

We will have a STUDY HALL Google Classroom that you will use to record the way in which you used your study hall time each day. This will be shared with your classroom teachers and administration if needed. This is part of your daily responsibility and it will help you with time management and planning now and in the future.

Discipline/Behavior

In our classroom, there are 3 simple rules to be followed:

  1. Be kind and respectful to EVERYONE

  2. Be prepared

  3. Be safe

*ALL SMS STUDENTS must follow the rules established in the student handbook. However, if these rules are not followed, the following consequences will occur, in the order that they are listed.

  1. Verbal Warning

  2. Behavior Reflection (signed and returned)

  3. Parent contact

  4. Referral to the principal’s office

(IF THE BEHAVIOR IS SEVERE,  YOU WILL BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE OFFICE.)
